Psalms 96:11 (HCSB)

Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice;
let the sea and all that fills it resound.

      I love the word “resound.”  It means “to be filled with sound; to reverberate.”  Here the picture is of all that is created being filled with sound all of which goes to proclaim the glory of their maker.
     This is one of the many passages in the Scriptures which sound as if inanimate things are alive; the heavens, the earth, the seas, all resounding with joy to and about their Crator.
     We are supposed to be like this in word and action! Resounding, reverberating, being filled with sound in praise and adoration of our great Creator.
     How well Mercy Me captures this truth in their great song “All of Creation”
     And all of creation, sing with me now
Lift up your voice and lay your burden down

And all of creation, sing with me now

Fill up the heavens, let his glory resound
