Matthew 26:38 (HCSB)

Then He said to them, “My soul is swallowed up in sorrow — to the point of death. Remain here and stay awake with Me.”

My soul is swallowed up in sorrow.  Powerful words from Christ translated powerfully in the HCSB.  Christ alone of all men fully understood both what he would suffer physically and what it would mean in terms of separation from the Father.  Swallowed up in sorrow can’t even express the pain and anguish that Christ suffered approaching and at the cross.
     He did this for me.
He did this for you, dear reader.
