Psalms 22:3 (HCSB)

But You are holy,
enthroned on the praises of Israel.

What does David mean here?  He does not mean that God would not be king if it weren’t for his people, as if  praises were a necessary requirement for him to be God.  God doesn’t need anything.
I’m inclined to think that what David means here is that we—God-worshippers—understand God better when we praise him; that we comprehend him better as king when we praise him.  In other words, praise is necessary for us, not God.
