Psalms 31:19 (ESV)

Oh, how abundant is your goodness,
which you have stored up for those who fear you
and worked for those who take refuge in you,
in the sight of the children of mankind!

God’s goodness is abundant.  God’s abundance is sufficient for all, indeed, it is unlimited.  When David says that God’s goodness is abundant, in a sense he means infinitely abundant, without end, sufficient for every person and never running out. But…
God’s goodness does not extend to every person; it extends to those who fear you. God’s goodness is for God’s people.  This is not all that surprising or unexpected.  Why would someone who is not a God-worshipper care about or desire God’s goodness?  They are bypassed, which suits both them and God.
     C. S. Lewis wrote in The Great Divorce“There are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God, “Thy will be done,” and those to whom God says, in the end, “Thy will be done.” All that are in Hell, choose it. Without that self-choice there could be no Hell. No soul that seriously and constantly desires joy will ever miss it. Those who seek find. Those who knock it is opened.”

God’s goodness is abundant for you, dear reader, if you desire it.
