Psalms 46:6-7 (HCSB)
Nations rage, kingdoms topple;
the earth melts when He lifts His voice.
 The Lord of Hosts is with us;

the God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah

      In light of these verses, it is probably true that we worry too much.  Nations will do what they will do—which means in general try to assume the place of God.  Kingdoms come and God; God speaks, the earth melts.  Not a lot of room for worry about ultimate things there.

     The Lord of all the innumerable hosts of heaven is with us.  The same God who was the stronghold of the God of Jacob is our stronghold also.  Storms come and go.  We may experience persecution. We may experience death, as Christians in Nigeria and Syria certainly are, but in all this God is with us.  He is our only stronghold.
     Is he your stronghold, dear reader?
