“For God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you showed for His name when you served the saints—and you continue to serve them. (Hebrews 6:10 HCSB)

The writer to Hebrews lists two things that God will not forget based on the fact that he is not unjust:

  1. He will not forget your work.  I take this to mean that God will not forget your labors on behalf of the church/saints.  Whatever God has called you to do and however he has gifted you to serve the church, do it with all your might because God will not forget it.
  2. He will not forget the love you showed for His name when you served the saints. In the process of working for the church/saints one’s love is demonstrated.  God will not, indeed cannot, forget the love that we demonstrate in serving.  People may forget.  People may be unappreciative.  God will not be so.  He sees and notices when we demonstrate love by serving.

Service and love, God will forget neither.  Therefore, dear reader, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord (1 Cor 15.58)
