“Then Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Take this child and nurse him for me, and I will pay your wages.” So the woman took the boy and nursed him.” (Exodus 2:8–9 HCSB)

When Pharaoh’s daughter discovers the baby of Jochebed hidden in the reeds, Miriam wisely steps forward to ask if she needs someone to nurse him.  The verse is her reply to Miriam.

So, Jochebed will get to raise her baby boy for awhile, allowing her to instill Hebrew values and identity in him, and he will be under the protection of Pharaoh himself.  Oh, and Pharaoh’s daughter will pay her!

This is providence in action.
