And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, “Great and amazing are your deeds, O Lord God the Almighty! Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations!” (Revelation 15:3, ESV)

Moses was a type of Christ, a foreshadowing of what was to come, a glimpse of ultimate truth.  He was chosen of God to lead his people out of slavery and bondage into the land of promise.

Jesus is the promised Messiah who will deliver his people from their shackles of sin into the land of eternal promise.

John is allowed to get a glimpse into heaven and what does he see?  He sees God’s people who have conquered the beast and its image, who have seen the true end of history.  What are God’s people doing?  They are singing a song to our Great God.  It is a song of the shadow, Moses, and it is the song of the fulfillment, of Christ.  It is a beautiful song, a spectacular song, a song which expresses the full glory of God in the summation of history.

Great and amazing are your deeds, O Lord God Almighty!

Just and True are your ways, O King of the nations!

The King has come.  The King has conquered.  The King has summoned his people home to be with him forever.  And so shall we ever be with our Great, Amazing, Just, and True God.

Soli Deo Gloria!
