“For <yet a little while、 how short! how short!>
|The Coming One| will be here、 and will not tarry; ” (Heb 10.37, Emphasized Bible)

I love the pathos of the translation of The Emphasized Bible here. You can easily see the emphasis in the text

  • A little while
  • How short!
  • How short!

“The Coming One” will himself come and as we know from the rest of Scripture he will end history and sum up all things in himself and collect his bride—the church, and so we will ever be with the Lord.

I have no doubt that when Jesus returns we will be saying exactly this: How short history was, and how quickly did Jesus return!  Why did we ever think that he wouldn’t?

Come quickly, Lord Jesus!
